CDA chief orders campaign against water wastage

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Maroof Afzal chaired a meeting held at the CDA head quarters, to review the steps taken by the authority to control wastage of water and littering on the roads and streets of the Federal Capital. The meeting was attended by Member Environment Syed Mustafain Kazmi, Director General Civic Management and other relevant officers.

Afzal was of the view that water is a precious resource and essential basic need in life. He felt that it was a blessing, and by wasting or unnecessarily using the resource, people were rejecting this blessing.

He said that water flowing in the streets not only cause environmental pollution but also damaged roads which ultimately affects the natural beauty of Islamabad. He directed CDA’s Environment Wing to expedite the campaign against water wastage, as well as littering on the streets and roads of the Capital.
