Five people including two policemen were killed during a jirga in Sardaryab area in the limits of Prang Police Station on Saturday night, official sources said. There was a jirga in Sardaryab between two groups over a family dispute when the rivals exchanged harsh words and fired shots at each other. The police claimed to have arrested one of the accused.
Four killed for honour in Sargodha

A man reportedly gunned down his sister and her three children in the name of honour in Sargodha. The incident occurred overnight in Model Town area of Sargodha, where all four were killed with gunshots. The police arrested Nazia’s brother Ghazanfar Abbas on suspicion and interrogated him. During interrogation, he confessed to killing her and her children. The man said he was suspicious of his sister’s “moral character”.
PPP activist shot dead after verbal clash in Swabi

An armed man shot dead an activist of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) after a verbal clash in Swabi on Sunday. The police said that Akhtar Ali, hailing from Sheikh Dheri, Chotta, Lahore police station jurisdiction of Swabi, exchanged hot words with accused Sajjadullah. The verbal clash turned violent after the culprit opened fire at Ali, killing him on the spot, and fled. The deceased stated to be first cousin of PPP Lahore’s General Secretary Fida Muhammad was laid to rest at ancestral grave yard and a large number of people including workers and office bearers of the political party attended the funeral prayers.
Two kidnapped from Taftan passenger coach

Unidentified armed men abducted two commuters from a passenger coach on Sariab Road near Sheikh Zaid Hospital in the outskirts of the provincial capital on Sunday. According to police, a group of unidentified armed men intercepted a passenger coach coming from bordering town Taftan and kidnapped two aboard passengers on gunpoint.”They took the abductees to some unknown location after the kidnapping,” the police said. Identity of kidnapped passengers could not be ascertained immediately. Police commenced efforts for safe recovery of the kidnapped passengers and arrest of the culprits.
