Pakistan decided on Friday to conduct a special audit of $230 million given by the United States to the country to fight terrorism.

The Pakistani government has sought details of the amount claimed to have been given by the United States to provinces, government institutions, and non-government organisations.

According to reports, details of the funds given by the United States to fight terrorism over the last six years have been sought and a special audit will be conducted.

This comes after US officials claimed before their Pakistani counterparts that $230 million had been given to provinces, government institutions and non-government organisations to fight terrorism.

The decision to conduct an audit has been taken by the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, which he conveyed to the US Secretary of State John Kerry during his recent visit.

Sources add the interior minister wants to know who has been given funds to fight terrorism by the United States and whether the funds were used properly or wasted.

  1. Another example of Pakistani rulers incompetence to govern and maintain rule of law in the country. They don't seem to have any control over events always reacting after the event has taken place.
