Delay in forming JC due to draft changes made by PTI: Dar

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Friday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had made several changes to the judicial commission draft sent to the government’s negotiation team, “which caused delays in the formation of the probe commission”.

On the other hand, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said his party had written a letter to Dar – who heads the government’s negotiating team – seeking a negotiated settlement rather than taking to the roads with regard to the election rigging probe. Khan added that PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen had sent a letter to Dar to remind him that the government’s team had not returned to talks after December 23.

Khan told reporters that he would accept the judicial commission’s findings even if it established that “mismanagement” took place in the 2013 elections.
