Foreign envoys visit North Waziristan

Ambassadors from various countries along with representatives from several institutions of the United Nations (UN) paid a visit to North Waziristan on Thursday.

They were accompanied by government and military leadership. The delegates were given a briefing on operation Zarb-e-Azb which is currently being conducted by the Pakistan Army.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), ambassadors from Afghanistan, Holland, Australia, Argentina, United States (US), and Germany, paid a visit to North Waziristan.

The foreign delegates were accompanied by representatives from different UN organisations, Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Corps Commander Lt General Hidayatur Rehman.

The delegates were also shown terrorist infrastructure, including the hideouts of terrorists, suicide attack training centres, and mines manufacturing factories – all of which have been demolished by the Pakistan Army. The participants of the visit were given a briefing on successful missions from Zarb-e-Azb.
