RIYADH-
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday arrived in Saudi Arabia for a two-day visit.
The premier is visiting the Saudi Kingdom to inquire about health of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. He would also perform Umra and pay a visit to Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) mausoleum in Madina.
In his pre-departure statement the PM said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are tied in close bonds of shared faith and values.
He said being the custodians of two holy mosques Saudi leadership has a special place in the heart of every Pakistani.
About ten days ago, PM Sharif had called Prince Muqrin, Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia to inquire after ailing Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.
The Prime Minister conveyed his prayers for his long life besides early and speedy recovery.
King Abdullah, hospitalised last week, is suffering from pneumonia and breathing with the aid of a tube, but is in a stable condition, the royal court said.
