No talks unless ceasefire violations stop, says India

A day after US Secretary of State John Kerry urged India and Pakistan to move forward, Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar stated that talks with Pakistan were not possible until and unless the neighbouring country stops ceasefire violation in a transparent and unambiguous manner.

“Pakistan has to make its intention clear,” the defence minister asserted.

The defence minister alleged that Pakistan is busy orchestrating a proxy war on India. He furthermore claimed that India would be adopting a pro-active policy to thwart Pakistan’s ill intentions.

While Parrikar refused to elaborate on the strategy, he did state that within the next six months statistics would make it obvious.

He admitted that cross border firing between the two countries has increased along the Working Boundary; however, it has come down considerably along the Line of Control (LOC).
