The protest outside Peshawar’s Army Public School on arrival of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and his wife on Wednesday was termed politically motivated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani, private media reported.

The minister, addressing a press conference, said that the party’s political opponents Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz attempted to obstruct the PTI chief’s visit.

“Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have formed Shuhda Forum and the protesters outside Army Public School were members of the forum. The protest had nothing to do with the victims’ families,” he said.

Earlier today, Khan made a visit to the tragedy-struck school with his new wife Reham Khan. Bereaved families protested in front of the school, rejecting political point-scoring over the tragedy while a small group attempted to block the way of the PTI chief’s convoy.

Peshawar’s Army Public School targeted in a deadly attack on December 16 by Taliban militants. At least 150 people were killed in the attack, including 132 school students.

  1. No person with grief of this kind would conduct themselves in this manner. I endorse KPK Minister’ s impression. Only PML N and Asfandyar could indulge in such despicable activity or prompt people to indulge. They failed.

  2. The protest mainly refers to none condemnation by Imran Khan of Taliban, Lashkar e Jhangvi and other Scums who claim to be Muslims and are behind killing of innocent people and now targeting children in schools as well. Imran Khan needs to openly and unreservedly condemn these Animals unless off course he has links with these people?
