*PPP leader demands formation of Judicial Commission before Jan 18
Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo Tuesday has demanded formation of Supreme Court Judicial Commission sooner than later as per the demand of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the interest of safeguarding and promoting national unity against terrorists.
Wattoo said that the government should not hesitate in this regard as the stakes are high indeed.
He suggested that the government should announce the setting up the commission before January 18 because the PTI had already announced the resumption of politics of sit-ins from the date. Pakistan is in a state of war and cannot afford the political division at this critical juncture of its history, he added.
He pointed out that the whole focus of the present government should be the extermination of terrorism as per mandate given by the entire political leadership of the country. Instead, it should be leading to foil any attempt to undermine the objectives of the mandate, he asserted.
Rationalising the setting up of the Judicial Commission, he said that holding of fair, free, impartial were absolutely critical for the development of undiluted democracy in the country and empowering the people against the radicals.
He said that the PPP was the victim of the rigging as well and would insist the setting up of the commission so the festering issue was settled once for all to the satisfaction of all the political parties crying horse about rigging.
