Cop among five killed in Karachi

Five people including one cop were killed and three others were injured in separate violence incidents in the city on Monday.

Twenty-year-old Adeel Abbas was found strangulated to death at his house in Junejo town near Baloch Colony area. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.

In a separate incident, an infant was found dead in Manghopir area in the jurisdiction of Sultanabad Police Station.

Separately, the tortured body of an unidentified man, aged about 35 years, was found from House No L-15, Sector 34/3, near Model Park in Korangi No 21/2. It was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a policeman, Abdul Majeed was gunned down by unidentified armed men in the limit of Kalakot Police Station in Lyari area. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained yet.

Meanwhile, a youth aged about 22-year old was gunned down by unknown armed men near Guddu Lane in Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind killing could not be ascertained yet.

Moreover, Abdul Aziz Hassan, a resident of Gulistan-e-Johar, was seriously injured in firing by unidentified armed men near Sindhi Hotel in Liaquatabad. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Moreover, a man, Ali Raza, 30, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Javed Bahria Cooperative Housing Society in Hawksbay area. The injured was rushed to CHK for treatment.

A youth, Murtaza, resident of Malir, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Hingora Chowk, Khokhrapar in Malir. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
