Six killed in different road accidents

*Woman killed, 32 injured as passenger bus turn-turtle

At least six persons were killed in two different accident in last 24 hours in Punjab.

Five persons were killed and nine others injured when a rashly driven bus hit a motorcycle-rickshaw on Sandhiawan Road on Monday.

According to police, a motorcycle-rickshaw No VRL 2372 driven by Nazim Hussain was on way to Ghagu Mandi from Chak 215-EB when a bus No BS 8050 on way to Karachi from Kasur collided with it near Ada Quarter.

Three women- Maqsooda, wife of Muhammad Shafiq, Tayyba daughter of Muhammad Shafiq and Naheed, wife of Munawar Hussain, died on the spot while rickshaw driver Nazim Hussain and Shamim succumbed to injuries after they were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters hospital for medical care.

Three injured including Nasim, wife of Muhammad Ashiq, Asad Munawar (8), and Sakina wife of Abdul Rehman were referred to Nishter Hospital, Multan, in view of their precarious condition.

WOMEN KILLED, 35 INJURED:

A woman was killed and three dozen others injured when a passenger bus turn-turtle on Monday.

Rescue sources said that a Sadiqabad bound passenger bus coming from Liaquatpur turned turtle in Channi Goth, Rahimyar Khan, due to speeding and poor visibility caused by dense fog.

As a result of the accident, a woman died on the spot while 32 passengers who sustained injuries were rushed to Liaquatpur Hospital where 14 were discharged after first aid while rest were still being treated till the filing of this report.
