WHO decides to take polio matters in own hands

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has expressed dissatisfaction over the anti polio campaign being launched by Rawalpindi District Health Department and decided to directly recruit polio workers at union council (UC) level in District Rawalpindi.

In the first phase, one worker for each UC will be appointed and both male and female workers will be enrolled. They will be paid monthly salary at the rate of Rs 22,000 and will be named Union Council Polio Workers (UCPW). Interview process of the candidates has started.
