The political administration of Khyber Agency has decided to remove Afghan Pesh Imams from mosques and replace them with local clerics.

The administration has issued notices in this regard. All efforts are being made to remove Afghan Pesh Imams from the three districts within Khyber Agency. The notice says that action will be taken against local people if they hire foreigners as Pesh Imams in their mosques.

The government has swung into action against unregistered Afghan refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA after the December 16, 2014 attack on Army Public School, Peshawar. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also demanded the federal government to repatriate Afghan refugees to their country without any delay.

The provincial government shifted all the Afghan refugees from Azakhel camp in Nowshera district to Shamshatoo camp in Peshawar last week. These refugees will be sent to Afghanistan in the next phase.
