KARACHI-

Mercy appeals of three death row convicts was rejected Friday by Sindh High Court, private media reported.

One of the convicts, Shafqat Hussain, was condemned to death by an anti-terrorism court in 2004 at the age of 14 years for kidnapping and killing a minor.

Earlier this week, his execution was halted by the interior ministry.

The court today dismissed his appeal for mercy on the ground that his execution has already been suspended.

Meanwhile, appeals by two other convicts Saeed Awan and Behram Khan were rejected on the grounds that they did not receive a presidential pardon.

Awan will be hanged on January 15 while Khan’s execution is scheduled on January 13.
