Thousands of fake immigration and educational consultants are working all over Pakistan. These unscrupulous agents advertise in local newspapers and publicise through media ads to run their campaigns. Taking advantage of the clients’ desire to go abroad, pseudo immigration consultants show green pastures to job seekers and give false hopes to students who want to study in foreign universities. In the urge of better future non eligible applicants, with the assistance of fraudulent agents, create fake documents and submit false credentials. Unlicensed consultants charge hefty amounts to send people abroad illegally. Many such candidates end up losing money and those who somehow manage to cross the finish line are caught later and deported back to Pakistan.
People who approach unlicensed immigration consultants don’t consider that their misrepresentations and deceitful information not only earns bad name to their country but also raises hurdles for eligible applicants. I appeal the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo motu action against illegal immigration mafia and lay down laws for mandatory registration of immigration consultants.
