ECP releases asset details of MNAs, party leaders

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday released details on the assets owned by parliamentarians for the financial year 2014. The information was made available on their website.

According to details provided by the MPs, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif possesses total assets (movable and immovable) worth Rs. 1.75 billion, whereas Imran Khan’s total of assets (plot, agricultural land, vehicles, bank accounts) are worth Rs. 33.3 million. In the previous year, there had been an increase of Rs. 3 million in Khan’s assets.

Nawaz Sharif owns property worth Rs. 250 million in Lahore, and has investments worth Rs. 120 million. Moreover, the premier owns cars worth Rs. 160 million. There is also a bungalow worth Rs. 100 million under his wife’s name in Muree. In addition, the land he received through inheritance amounts to more than a billion rupees.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan’s assets include his 300 canal Bani Gala house as well as a seven canal house in Zaman Park. Khan also showed two cows in his assets.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah’s total assets are worth more than Rs. 20 million, whereas Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah’s assets amount to more than Rs. 10 million.

The PTI vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s total assets are more than Rs. 130 million and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s total assets amount to more than Rs. 700 million.
