CM inaugurates Apni Gaari, Apna Rozgar Scheme

50,000 vehicles will be provided to youth at subsidised rates under the scheme which has estimated cost of Rs 31 billion

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Apni Gaari, Apna Rozgar Scheme in Lahore on Thursday.

Addressing the first balloting ceremony, the CM said that a total of 50,000 vehicles will be provided to the youth at a subsidised rate. He said that this scheme has a total estimated cost of Rs 31 billion.

“A total of Rs 100,000 applications have been received for this scheme, under which all vehicles will be provided on merit alone,” said Shahbaz, adding that women have also applied for the scheme.

“The government alone cannot eliminate the unemployment of youth rather it can only manage unemployment through its policies,” said the CM.

The CM said that 60 percent of the country’s population comprises of youth and provision of employment to them is a great challenge for the government and every possible measure is being taken in this regard.

He said that billions of rupees have been spent on distribution of laptops among youth while scholarships are also being given to 60,000 youths.

He said that the whole nation has become united for elimination of terrorism from the country which will help in bringing peace back to Pakistan.

“The political and military leadership is committed to implementing the national action plan to end this menace once and for all,” said the Punjab CM.
