PDWP approves development schemes worth Rs 6b

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved three development schemes of various development sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 6 billion.

These schemes were approved in the PDWP’s 31st meeting of the fiscal year 2014-2015. The meeting was presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi, said the P&D spokesman.

P&D Provincial Secretary Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, members of the P&D Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.

According to P&D spokesman, the approved development schemes include District Based Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS) Punjab 2014 (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 129 million, replacement of outlived, deeper and inadequate water supply lines with HDPE Pipes, Lahore, (Gastro Phase-II) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 1 billion and Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Project–II(PMSIP-II) (Concept Clearance Paper) at the cost of Rs 4 billion.
