- Imran Khan brings his secret wedding to former BBC weather girl out of the closet
“Getting married is not a crime,” said Imran Khan as the supposed rumours surrounding his secret wedding began shaping into reality.
Khan made the statement only after meeting his two sons in the UK. “When you have children from your first marriage, they are the first priority,” he added, outlining that speaking to his sons about the affair was the most important thing for him.
“They are first affected by the divorce and then they are affected by another marriage. For 10 years I did not even think about getting married again because I did not want to hurt my children. Until I spoke to my children I did not want to make any statements about my marriage.”
“I got the chance to meet my children… I will tell you the good news this week.” Imran said, while still refusing to name Reham Khan as the woman he’s made his second wife.
Pakistan Today was the first to report on the union between the cricket-turned-politician and former BBC weather girl.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami, who was the first to shed light on the marriage, touched on the subject on Channel 24. He spoke about how several members of the PTI had been cross with him when he broke the news, and both Khans had continued to vehemently deny their relationship with each other despite the obvious.
PTI sources told Pakistan Today that Khan’s decision to marry Reham had not gone down well with certain party leaders, who believe that the marriage will put the party chairman’s political career at stake.
Khan had earlier taken to twitter to state that the rumours surrounding his marriage to 41-year-old Reham Khan were “greatly exaggerated”. However, his claims then had left most wondering what part of the news was exaggerated, as he hadn’t said yes, but he hadn’t said no either. 62-year-old Khan was previously married to Jemima Goldsmith, the marriage ended in 2004.
According to latest claims by some private channels, the nuptials took place at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s brother’s house. The Nikah ceremony was conducted by Mufti Saeed, while Zakir Khan and Aun Chaudhry were the two witnesses from Khan’s side, a news channel reported.
It is expected that Khan will formally reveal the name of his new wife on Thursday.
Some sources suggest that Reham Khan has already moved into Bani Galla with her youngest daughter. Despite the happy news there seems to still be trouble on the horizon for Khan.
Aleema Khan, who had originally angrily rubbished rumours of her brother’s union with the TV journalist, expressed her shock at the news. She had originally stated that the rumour was propaganda being used by the opposition to malign her brother, and said that the former cricketer would only marry a ‘good person’.
Speaking to MailOnline, Aleema, when asked about Khan’s wedding, said, “Really? Really? Let’s see if he announces it officially. I am taken aback,” she said, clearly disappointed with the news. “This is a real challenge for him. We haven’t met her and I don’t know that we want to meet her,” she added.
She further went on to speculate that Khan’s two sons may not be all too happy with their father either. “It is his decision, he is a grown up. It is more important how the children feel. I suppose in any situation like this the children will not feel good about it. They do look up to their father.’
However, it doesn’t seem like Reham shared the same apprehensions as Aleema Khan. The following post appeared on what is supposed to be her official Facebook page once Khan had come clean about the marriage on national media:

So what if the mans got re married. Let him be. And report news of some interest and consequence.

IK is an important leader who believes in his followers to be entertained. The must go on non-stop.
I think no one should be up set over this marriage. It is their decision and no one should get up set. They do not need any body's approval, being adult. If they have tied the knot, do not try to undo it.
Aleena Khan appears to be quite possessive of her brother. She thinks its not a good match. She may have her reasons to dislike the bride. What matters is, their happiness. Twp persons get married for their own convenience and circumstancs. May be they fell in love. And love dictates some kind of union. Do not play villain.
No one has yet confirmed the marriage. It may be publicity stunt, and nothing serious. PTI should take it as good news, because I.Khan will become more focused. It may be a prelude to another Dharna (Sit IN ). Do not worry folks the cat will come out of the bag soon.
Marriage is a preferred relationship recommended by our dear prophet. Let us all congratulate IK on his 2nd marriage. IK will also now manage a family and run the home affairs along with PTI.

I have no issue of Imrans khans marriage whatsoever that it is with Reham Khan.
My issue is all this is happened during Dharna. Where he has made all this Azaadi march life and death issue. People did die as a direct result of this movement. Loss of Billions of rupees occurred and many human lives were also lost. The rhetoric from Imran Khan was he will die but he will not go back.
And during all this he was engaged in full time romance with Reham Khan. That is my issue.
