President lauds TACCIKP’s role in country’s economic growth

Meets TACCIKP delegation, assures an enabling environment for growth of business activities in tribal areas

President Mamnoon Hussain has appreciated the role of Tribal Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (TACCIKP) for promotion of trade and economic growth in the tribal areas. The president has commended the efforts and contributions of the private sector and business community toward attaining goals of economic prosperity and development of the country.

The president was talking to a delegation of TACCIKP at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday. The members of the delegation included TACCIKP Founder and President Senator Ghulam Ali, TACCIKP President Shaihdur Rehman and TACCIKP Senior Vice President Muhammad Shoaib Khan. Commerce Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Arbab and senior officials of the President’s Secretariat were also present in the meeting.

Welcoming the delegation from TACCIKP, the president said that the present government was undertaking all possible measures to improve the law and order situation in the country in order to provide a conducive atmosphere to both domestic and foreign investors, adding that security apparatus and armed forces of the country were valiantly fighting militants to wipe out terrorist infrastructure.

The president stated that the present government was trying its best to resolve the energy crisis and addressing the energy issue is the government’s top priority.

“Work on numerous energy projects has already begun,” he said. He emphasised that reliable and uninterrupted supply of energy is vital for the economic and social development of Pakistan.

The president expressed the government’s resolve and commitment to tackle all the issues of business community with the active support of all segments of society. He reiterated the resolve for providing an environment for growth of business activities in tribal areas. He also urged the Ministry of Commerce to look into and resolve the issues of TACCIKP on priority basis.

The delegation from TACCIKP thanked the president and assured him that TACCIKP would continue making contributions to the national economy.
