One killed, two suspects arrested at BB airport

One suspected terrorist, purportedly a robber, was killed and two others arrested after they were injured in an encounter with the Elite Force near Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to the police, security personnel positioned outside the airport stopped a white Mehran car for security check when three men aboard fired shots at the police and fled.

The Elite Force chased them down to crossfire at Shaheen Chowk and arrested the three, one of which later succumbed to gunshots.

The police have shifted the arrested to an undisclosed location and have initiated an investigation.

ROBBERS’ GANG BUSTED, 24 ARRESTED:

The police have busted a gang of dacoits and also arrested 24 other outlaws from various areas of the city besides recovering, wine bottle and weapons and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

On a tip off, Sihala Police raided Shams colony Rawat and arrested five robbers namely Ghulam Murtaza, Arshad Mehmood, Junaid, Nasir Mehmood and Imran besides recovering three 30-bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession.

Sabzi Mandi Police raided at Sector I-10/1 and arrested 16 accused involved in immoral activities and recovered two wine bottles from their possession. Industrial Area Police arrested seven fraudsters portraying themselves as officials of ETO office.

Nilor Police arrested accused Faisal and recovered one 30-bore pistol along with ammunition from him.

Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

Industrial Area SDPO along with Station House Officers of Sabzi Mandi and Industrial Area police stations along with police team conducted search in the area of under construction buildings and plazas. They succeeded to arrest seven suspects who are being investigated.
