Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notice to home secretary, provincial police chief, Rangers director general and other official respondents to file comments on two petitions seeking recovery of missing men.
A division bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar also issued notice to the federal and provincial law officers to submit their comments on the petitions by January 13.
The woman petitioner, Abida submitted that her spouse, Saadatullah Khan, son Muawaz Badri and driver Abdul Qayum Alvi were picked up by unidentified persons on December 5 from their house in Quetta Town near Superhighway and since then, there was no information about their whereabouts.
She told the judges that she had also approached the officials of law enforcement agencies to seek their whereabouts but to no avail. Moreover, she said, when she reported the matter to the police station concerned but they refused to register the FIR. The court was requested to direct the law enforcement officials to trace the missing men.
The petitioners, Dawa Khan, Shah Faisal and other stated that the Rangers personnel raided their houses on December 21 and took away Shahid Iqbal, Faisal and Khuda-e-Dost. They added since then there was no clue to them as Rangers officials did not give information about them despite having been approached repeatedly.
