Opening of private educational institutions after winter vacation has been linked with the security certificate in Rawalpindi.
After instructions from the Punjab government for strict security of the educational institutions, a committee has been formed under Rawalpindi Education Executive District Officer (EDO) Qazi Zahoorul Haq.
The owners of the private educational institutions would be required to get security certificate from concerned officials of the District Education Department which would be issued by the local police. To obtain the certificate, the schools administration would have to show receipts of equipment purchased for the purpose along with proof of other security related measures.
According to reports, the committee would visit different educational institutions on daily basis and send report to the provincial officials.
The committee visited some educational institutions on Saturday and ordered closure of seven private institutions. The officials said that educational institutions failing to implement the security instructions could face cancellation of registration and registration of cases against them.
