Imran Khan threatens to relaunch street protests

ISLAMABAD-

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday threatened to relaunch street protests, intending to pressurise the  government to constitute a judicial commission to probe alleged rigging in last general elections, private media reported.

Addressing a press conference after chairing a meeting of his party’s core committee, Khan said “I am giving government a deadline of January 18. We will be on streets if our demands are not met.”

Commenting on vote verification in NA-122, he said, “I was defeated with almost 9,000 votes while around 30,000 votes have turned out to be bogus in NA-122.”

He further said the main issue is that  National Database and Registration Authority(NADRA) did not verify thumb impressions during verification of votes.

He alleged that NADRA found out at least 20,000 ballot papers with false National Identity Card (NIC) numbers.

The PTI chief claimed that form 14 and 15; identifying the total number of votes per bag per candidate and number of used/ unused ballot papers, respectively, were missing from 100 polling station out of the total 284 polling stations in the constituency.

While holding out several ballot papers before media, Khan said that the ballot papers of different colours and sizes were used in the constituency.

Khan also responded to the reports of his marriage.

“When you have children from your first marriage, they your first priority,” he said adding that he did not think of marrying again as it would have hurt his children who had already been hurt by the divorce.

” I did not want to make any statement until I had met my children. I just got a chance to go meet them, o now this week I will give the good news,” he said.
