The authorities have transferred 10 wardens of Adiala Jail on the grounds of security risk after they were found indulging in monetary corruption, and provision of mobile phones and other banned items to prisoners.

According to sources, after the Peshawar incident the security of jails has been tightened and all the staffs are under continuous monitoring.

During the course of secret monitoring it was discovered that some wardens were involved in providing banned items to prisoners including mobile phones for cash and any irregularities inside jail cannot be done without the liaison of inside staff, which could compromise the security of the jail

In view of this the authorities decided to transfer 10 jail wardens who were found involved in this practice. The new wardens appointed in the place of these transferred wardens are also being secretly monitored, sources said.
