ISLAMABAD-
The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Monday constituted a two-member bench to hear the detention case of Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks, private media reported.
The hearing, headed by Justice Jawaad S. Khawaja, will start from Tuesday .
The Interior Ministry had challenged the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision to suspend the detention order of Lakhvi in SC last week.
In December 2014, an anti-terrorism court had released Lakhvi but the government continued his detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). Later on, the detention was suspended by the IHC.
Lakhvi is currently under arrest at the Adiala Prison due to his alleged involvement in a kidnapping case.
