Inter-Services Public Relations Director General  Asim Saleem Bajwa on Sunday said that the phased return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) will begin from next month.

The military spokesperson tweeted that the army along with the government and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) administration will ensure comprehensive resettlement of those displaced due to the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb launched against militants in North Waziristan and other tribal agencies.

The decision came during a meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa apex committee formed to implement the recently approved National Action Plan.

Earlier today, army chief General Raheel Sharif arrived in Peshawar to attend the meeting. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa governor, K-P Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Corps Commander Peshawar and DG ISI were also present.

The context of the National Action Plan, security issues and rehabilitation of IDPs were on the agenda of today’s meeting.
On Saturday, the government formed ‘apex committees’ in all provinces to oversee the implementation of the National Action Plan against terrorism.
