President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in their separate messages on the eve of Eid Miladun Nabi stressed on defeating extremism by following the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged the nation to follow the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) as with these qualities, “we can fight all kinds of extremist beliefs.”

He said the basic requisite to express love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (Peace beupon Him) is to follow his Sunnah and teachings including unity, tolerance, fraternity, harmony, and the spirit of sacrifice and reconciliation. The PM felicitated the nation on the revered day. “Islam is the religion of nature and blessings. It is the religion of tolerance, patience, religious harmony, respect for humanity and forbearance,” he added.

President Mamnoon Hussain in his message called for promoting brotherhood, tolerance and religious harmony.

“The country could be purged of extremism, violence and other issues if we inculcate in our lives the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH),” he said.

He said Holy Prophet (PBUH) was model of blessing and affection that was why he was known as Rahmatullil Alameen (blessing for worlds).

Congratulating the countrymen on the birthday of Holy Prophet, the president said this holy day required looking into the issues confronting the Muslims. Extremism and violence had resulted in the killings of thousands of the innocent people besides igniting the issues with no solution in sight. “One of the reasons behind the challenges confronting us today was caused by our deviation from the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and fabricated interpretation of his teachings,” the head of the sate said.
