Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal told the Senate on Friday that the government was working on an LPG air mix plan to provide gas to different districts of Balochistan.
Responding to a calling attention notice, the minister said that the government has not yet made any decision to increase the prices of natural gas. He said the government is currently reviewing the different slabs of natural gas prices.
He further informed that no agreement or price has been finalised in terms of LNG imports. He explained that the government is working on an LPG air mix plan to provide gas to different districts in Balochistan.
The House had earlier resumed its discussion on the presidential address in the joint session of the parliament on June 2, 2014.
Senator Rafique Rajwana and said that he regretted that India created tension by frequently resorting to unprovoked firing on the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary.
Senator Abdul Rauf said that a peaceful atmosphere in the country is imperative for attracting future foreign investments. He said that the government should take bold steps to implement the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project.
Senator Babar Ghauri said that provinces got their autonomy under the 18th constitutional amendment; however, no province has transferred powers to the local government level yet.
The house also adopted the report of the Standing Committee on Commerce and Textile to attract foreign investment in the country. Taking part in the discussion Senator Surraya Amiruddin said that the prevalence of peace has to be Pakistan’s topmost priority. The house adjourned to meet again on Monday afternoon.
