Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Hyder Jamali said that the Sindh government had accorded approval to induct/appoint 25,000 more police constabulary in the next financial year, however, the induction would be completed in two different phases.

He said this while presiding over a meeting at central police office. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Karachi, DIGP/HQtrs Abdul Aleem Jafri, DIGP/Special Branch, Naeem Akram Bharoka, DIGP Traffic, Zonal DIsG of Karachi and AIG/Operations Sindh Pervaiz Chandio.

The IGP said the government intended to increase the police strength at the police stations for effective policing and it was because of the reason more induction was allowed. He further disclosed that reforms were being introduced in police rules and in this context preparation of draft was underway for onward submission to the government.

Jamali directed the police officers to ensure preparation of district security plans keeping in view the crime analysis and past experiences/observations. While reviewing the progress of investigations into different high profile cases, he directed to investigate the cases on modern lines right from the crime scene up to prosecution to ensure logical conclusion of the cases.

He also tasked the police to gear up the on-going campaign against proclaimed offenders and absconders. “Police on patrolling and deputed at exit/entry points of the city/province should be provided with the lists of POs/absconders in order to act promptly” he added.
