Veteran politician Abida Hussain’s book titled Power Failure will be launched on January 2 (today) at 3pm in Al Hamra Arts Council Hall No. 1.
Power Failure is the political biography of Hussain—in which she has intertwined the impacts that key political events of the country have had on her personal life and on the destiny of the nation. It is also an anecdotal account of missed opportunities.
Hussain is a renowned politician, agriculturist and diplomat hailing from Jhang. She has the distinction of being the first woman to chair the District Council of Jhang and the first woman to be popularly elected as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Punjab governor, chief minister, bureaucrats, literary personalities along with other distinguished guests from various professions will attend the book launching ceremony.
