The All Pakistan Annual Naat Competition was held at Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Headquarters on Thursday. The event was jointly organised by Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television.
Naat khawans who had secured prominent positions in the regional contests took part in the competition.
In the under-15 category for boys, Ihsanullah Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) secured the first position, Muhammad Daniyal from Punjab stood second and Muhammad Zeeshan from Sindh got the third position. Amongst the girls in the U-15 category, Syeda Ghausia Kazmi from KP stood first, Ansa Nadiya Mariam from Gilgit Baltistan came second and Ansa Mahnoor was declared third.
In the 15 to 25 years category for boys, the first position was taken by Muhammad Shakir from KP, second by Muhammad Hassan from Sindh and the third by Muhammad Bilal Noor from Punjab.
Of the girls in this category, Ansa Zeenat Alam respresenting Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir stood first, Ansa Mafiya Maqbool from Sindh came second and Syed Kiran Bukhari from KP got the third position.
The first prize winner was given Rs 15,000, second Rs 12,000 and the third position holder was given Rs 10, 000. All the other participants were given Rs 8,000 each.
Nuskha-e-Quran and books of Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) were also given to the participants. Gold medals were also given to winners on behalf Syed Abdur Rehman Foundation.
Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf who was chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes and medals among the winners.
The minister also announced Rs 5,000 for each participant of the annual naat competition.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, “Muslims should prove through their character that Islam is a religion for the entire world.”
