A two-year-old boy accidentally shot dead his mother on Tuesday at a Walmart store in Idaho, US media reported Wednesday.
The woman, 29, was shopping in the store in the northern Idaho city of Hayden with the boy and three other children at the time. The 2-year-old reached into her purse, grabbed a gun and opened fire. The mom, Veronica J. Rutledge, was killed at the scene.
She was the owner of the gun and had a permit to carry a concealed weapon, local police told media.
The mother and the kids are in the northern Idaho town to visit relatives. Her husband arrived shortly after the shooting.
The store was closed following the incident.
