Special courts are only being developed to deal with terrorists, said Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid in a meeting with Amjad Bashir, member of the European Parliament on Tuesday.
The minister said that the recent act of terror in Peshawar jolted every Pakistani to their core. It was a blatant act of cowardice and callousness. Rashid said that the killing of those innocent souls was not only a huge loss for the future of Pakistan but for humanity as well.
He said that there is no place for extremism in our society and the whole nation has resolved to foil the nefarious designs of these terrorists through joint efforts. Terrorists neither have any faith nor any regard for the law, humanity and constitution, the minister said.
However, the government will follow due process in the formation of special courts so that there is no room for their misuse. All the accused will be given an opportunity to mount their defence and prove themselves innocent on the basis of evidence, the law minister assured.
