*Hospital celebrates 20th anniversary
In connection with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre’s (SKMCH&RC) 20th anniversary, a cake cutting ceremony was organised in the hospital on Monday. A large number of cancer patients, hospital management and employees were present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that SKMCH&RC opened its doors for cancer patients on December 29, 1994, and in line with its mission, the hospital has continued to provide diagnostic and treatment facilities to the patients for the last 20 years without any discrimination. Almost 75% patients are being treated free in this hospital. The hospital has spent around 15 billion rupees on the treatment of cancer patients since its inception. The hospital management is very keen to open the doors of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Peshawar, for cancer patients as soon as possible.
On this occasion, SKMCH&RC board of governors chairman Imran Khan in his message said that Pakistani nation is to be congratulated for this huge success as they not only helped in making this hospital a reality but also continuously participated to keep it running till date. He hoped that whole nation will once again step forward to help us complete Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Peshawar. SKMCH&RC CEO Dr Faisal Sultan said that the success of this journey is because of the support and tireless efforts of our supporters and also the employees of this hospital. He also hoped that this mission will go on and people will continue to support this noble cause in future as well.
