At least six passengers were killed and nearly a dozen others critically wounded on Wednesday as the van the passengers were travelling on plunged into a deep ravine near Muzaffarabad town of Azad Kashmir.
According to police and rescue officials, the ill-fated van carrying at least 20 people veered off a narrow road, plunging hundreds of feet down into the Jhelum River in the Asghar Abad area.
Rescue officials said six people, including a woman and a child, lost their lives in the incident whereas 12 others were injured.
The van was heading to Rawalpindi from Muzaffarabad.
