The Woman Medico-Legal Officer Dr Shabnam Memon of ChandkaMedicalCollegeHospital said Monday that five-year-old baby Fauzia Soomro alias Sindhoo was raped before strangulating to death.
She said that during post-mortem, she found her uterus ruptured. WMLO further said that signs of violence on her both wrist joints, finger and nail signs over her both left and right side of neck were also available which shows that the baby died of asphyxia due to strangulating.
According to details, an orphan Sindhoo was allegedly raped, strangulated and buried under bricks in an old building’s kitchen in Yar Muhammad Kalhoro Colony in Waleed police station limits on December 27, 2014.
The police arrested three accused namely Niaz Jatoi, Shoaib Jatoi and 14-years Younis Jatoi. Younis has confessed the crime and two other accused are his close relatives and according to police also involved in the crime.
Mother of the deceased child, who is a widow, named Begum Soomro told media here that accused Younis is son of an influential policeman and they are living in her neighborhood. She said that she will not get justice because the police will certainly save the son of a cop and other co-accused. She demanded of the higher authorities to provide justice and hang the accused publicly. The medico-legal formalities were fulfilled at the mortuary of the ChandkaMedicalCollegeHospital. FIR has been registered and police is probing further.
