An accident was prevented at Lahore airport on Tuesday when the front wheel axle of a Boeing 737 belonging to a private national airline was damaged.
However, no injuries or other damages were reported on the plane that was enroute from Karachi to Lahore with 172 passengers. All passengers and crew were moved out of the aircraft to safety.
According to airport sources, the axle broke while the plane was gearing in for landing, after which the pilot took immediate precautions to halt any further movement on the runway and avoid additional damage.
