PESHAWAR-

British boxing champion of Pakistani origin Amir Khan on Monday paid a visit to Army Public School in Peshawar targeted by Taliban militants on December 16, private media reported.

Expressing grief over the loss of at least 148 people in the brutal attack, Khan said that he came to Pakistan to meet with the bereaved families of the victims.

“Children must not be scared to go back to school and the onus is on us to instill confidence in them, and also help to improve the country’s security situation,” he added.

Expressing the hope of successful joint efforts of the security forces, he said “all we can do is pray [for the victims’ families] and hope [terrorist attacks] do not occur again.”

Khan also visited Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.  Gen Raheel, reportedly, admired the services of Khan for Pakistan.

  1. This is a great gesture by Amir Khan who has come all the way from London to condole with the bereaved families & contribute towards reconstruction of the damaged school.

On the other hand, Imran Taliban Khan who got votes from KPK has left for London to enjoy New Year parties, leaving the bereaved families & the IDPs high & dry!
