CDA to start roads construction in I-12 ‘soon’

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is to initiate construction work on major roads in Sector I-12. This project would cost Rs.358 million. The tender notice for construction of major roads in Sector I-12 has already been floated in the national press and contract for construction work would be awarded soon after opening of tender on January 15, 2015.

This was disclosed at a high level meeting held here at CDA Headquarters, which was presided by the Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal. On this occasion, Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed, Member Engineering, Shahid Sohail, Director General Works and officers of concerned formations of the Authority were also present.

Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal said that CDA is paying special heed to the stalled sectors, which have been either completely neglected in the past or development work could not be completed. Due to these reasons, the allottees of these sectors have been facing great difficulties, he added. He said that the present regime has included the development of stalled sectors in its priority to meet the challenge of shortage of residential units in the Federal Capital and in this regard sufficient funds have been allocated in the current fiscal year for the development of stalled sectors. He said that plan for construction of major roads in Sector I-12 has been finalized and Rs.358.00 million has been allocated.
