Benazir’s blood lifeline of Zardari’s politics: APML spokesperson

KARACHI-

Responding to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s allegations on former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf, the latter’s party All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) said that Zardari, former president of Pakistan, rose to power by stepping on the dead body of his slain wife and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

“Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s blood is the lifeline of Mr Zardari’s politics. It is soaked in her blood for he is the sole beneficiary of her assassination,” APML spokesperson Asia Ishaq said while talking to a private news channel.

APML’s statement followed PPP co-chairman’s allegation that Musharraf, along with his newly-found allies in the province, was trying to jeopardize the PPP-led Sindh government.

The APML spokesperson added that her party was not interested in booting out the government.

“The PPP’s poor performance is its death indeed,” she said while adding that the growing death toll in Thar reflects the incompetence of the PPP-led government.
