Capital cops net 54 outlaws including two Afghans

Also recover 2 kilos of hashish, several weapons

The Islamabad police have arrested 54 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered about two kilograms of hashish, weapons and other looted items from their possession, a police spokesman reportedly said on Friday.

According to details, Secretariat Police arrested bootlegger Mushtaq Hussain and recovered three wine bottles from him. Ramana Police arrested drug peddlers Wazir Muhammad and recovered 1.2 kilograms of hashish from him. Sabzi Mandi Police arrested three accused namely Masan Iftikhar, Muhammad Adnan and Usman and recovered one wine bottle, eight tin beers and one 30 bore illicit pistol along with other ammunition from their possession.

A capital police team also arrested two Afghan nations namely Faryadullah and Khanzada.

In a separate incident, Sabzi Mandi Police also arrested 44 accused for blocking roads by erecting encroachments.

Shehzad Town Police arrested accused Khalid Khan and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol along with ammunition from him.

The CIA police arrested drug peddler Tahir Raza and recovered 1.2 kilograms of hashish from him. Cases have been registered against the nabbed people and further investigation is underway.

Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Asmatullah Junejo has appreciated the performance of the capital police and directed all police officials to accelerate their efforts for a peaceful and secure society.
