Umar Gul out of World Cup, career in danger

Pakistan’s experienced fast bowler Umar Gul has been ruled out from the World Cup 2015 due to knee injury.

According to reports, Gul’s carrier is also on the stake following the knee operation.

On the other hand Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials are hopeful that Junaid Khan and Sohaib Maqsood will be fit before the mega event.

Officials told PCB chairman Shehryar Khan that Umar Gul’s reports are not very satisfying, bowler’s chances of playing World cup are not bright as well.

The officials said that Junaid Khan is 90 percent fit while Sohaib is getting fit as well. He is very famous for his reverse swing and depth bowling in shorter format of the game.

Umar Gul returned after long gap from international cricket against New Zealand where he only managed to appear in T20 series.

Gul so far appeared in 47 test matches, 127 One Day Internationals (ODI) and in 57 Twenty 20 (T20) internationals.

The 30 year-old bowler, had the knee surgery in Australia this year and since then he has some major fitness issues.
