QUETTA-

President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday visited Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s residency in Ziarat for a flag hoisting ceremony.

He is on a three-day visit to Balochistan.

Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasir Janjua and various tribal leaders were also present at the ceremony on the eve of Jinnah’s 139th birth anniversary.

Addressing the gathering, the president said that the Peshawar carnage has jolted the nation and a joint effort was needed to fight the common enemy. He praised the efforts of the armed forces stating that the nation was proud of their determination and sacrifices, urging to stand behind the army in difficult times.

“The terrorists tried to destroy the Quaid’s residency but the government has restored it to its original state,” he added, referring to 15 June 2013’s incident when  Balochistan Liberation Army targeted the residency with rockets. After rehabilitation, the residency was inaugurated on August, 2014.

The president further said that soon the Gawadar Port will be operational and Gawadar airport would be built.
