The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday issued a notification to reduce Rs 2.97/per unit in electricity bills whereas the prices of gas would be increased by 10 to 64 percent till January 1.
The notification of electricity tariff cut off has been taken under the fuel adjustment of November month after which the users would get relief of Rs 19 billion in January bills.
According to Nepra, electricity of 6 billion 53 crore unit was sold to the customers in November.
On the other hand, officials have decided to increase gas prices by 53 percent for industrial users, 18 percent for commercial users, 64 percent for fertilizer factories while captive power plant would face 30 percent increase in gas prices.
Moreover, new gas prices would be implemented from January 1 after approval of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
