Nation united against terrorism: Shahbaz

*CM says bold decisions taken by national leadership with consensus will eliminate terrorism

Bold decisions taken by the national leadership with consensus against terrorism will result in permanent elimination of this menace from the country, said Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while talking to a delegation of office-bearers and workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday.

The chief minister said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase of its history and terrorism has caused a huge loss to the country. He said that more than 40,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in the war against terrorism while national economy, trade, exports and business activities are also being affected. He said that no leniency will be shown to terrorists and their facilitators and terrorism will be rooted out from the country with the force of unity and consensus.

He said that consensus on national action plan against terrorism is a historic event and political, religious and military leadership have become united to eradicate this scourge. He said that time has come to permanently end the menace of terrorism.

He said that every Pakistani is grieved at the tragic incident in Peshawar as the terrorists have attacked the future of the country. He said that massacre of innocent children and their teachers in Peshawar Army Public School is the worst act of terrorism in the history of the world. He said that the elements involved in this brutal incident deserve deterrent punishment.

The chief minister further said that exemplary unity of the nation against terrorists and their patrons is a proof of the fact that time has come for rooting out this menace from the country and to make Pakistan a haven of peace. He said that though the murder of innocent children has aggrieved the whole nation but the decision of the national leadership to pay back the enemy in the same coin is commendable.

He said that blood of the martyrs will not go waste and those who have killed innocent Pakistanis will meet their logical end. He said that the Operation Zarb-e-Azb is aimed at survival of the future generations and stability of the country and victory will be achieved in this war at any cost.
