MCB Bank, in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), is striving towards making LUMS Pakistan’s first cashless education campus via its MCB Lite platform. In the near future, this alliance will facilitate thousands of MCB Lite users including the faculty, students and staff members who will benefit from the digital payment ecosystem being brought to them. To accomplish this, MCB Lite VISA Debit card has already been introduced to the LUMS community after which MCB has successfully reached another milestone by installing its first POS terminal at the university’s Pepsi Dining Centre (PDC). This has created exclusivity for Lite Users to pay through their mobile wallet when they dine at PDC. Recently an inauguration ceremony was held in this regard at LUMS PDC. The cashless drive was inaugurated by the LUMS Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sohail Naqvi who was very excited to announce the institution as Pakistan’s 1st Cashless biosphere through MCB Bank’s innovative and state of the art platform i.e. MCB Lite. The ceremony was also attended by MCB team lead by Zargham Khan Durrani (Group Head – Retail Banking North), Ali Naqvi (Officiating Business Head – Digital Banking and Business Development), Sohail Malik (Head Sales Loyalty and Alliances) and Mustapha Altaf Saleem (Relationship Manager MCB for LUMS). This revolutionary partnership between these two prestigious organizations will pave the way for future development in digitizing payments as well as bringing forward a behavioral change for future generations. This step is aimed at improving the everyday life of individuals as well as boosting the overall economy of Pakistan by demonetizing the payment structure currently prevalent in Pakistan. Zargham Khan Durrani is very hopeful about how these two institutions are propelling together in the same direction and said, “MCB Bank has always tried to be a leader in all segments of banking industry and this marks yet another leap towards digitizing payments for everyone in Pakistan”.
