11 killed, dozens injured in separate road accidents

At least 11 people died and over a dozen were wounded in separate road mishaps in Balochistan and Punjab on Thursday, officials said.

At least six people were killed when a petrol tanker collided with a car in Mach Town, Balochistan.

According to officials, the incidents occurred when the speeding car collided with the truck carrying petrol. The truck was coming from the opposite direction on the National Highway in Balochistan.

The collision left the vehicle severely damaged and resulted in the death of six people including three women and a child.

Three people were also wounded in the accident and were later shifted to nearby hospitals.

In Punjab, at least five passengers were killed and 11 others were injured when a passenger wagon overturned in the jurisdiction of the Gujar Khan police station on Thursday evening.

According to police, the wagon had over 15 passengers on board and was headed towards Rawalpindi. The accident occurred when the van’s tyre burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn at main GT Road.

The passengers trapped in the wreckage of the wagon were pulled out by rescuers and shifted to different hospitals in Rawalpindi.
