The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday rejected the plea of the government to extend the detention period of banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s chief Malik Ishaq.
A three-member review board headed by Justice Manzoor Malik started the hearing in presence of Malik Ishaq who was presented before the court under tight security.
The government made a plea to the court to extend Ishaq’s detention as the timing of his release was no appropriate in wake of the Peshawar massacre. However, the government’s counsel could not satisfy the court over the matter upon which the government’s plea was rejected by the panel.
