The federal capital’s policemen deployed for duty at the sit-ins of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) are still awaiting their double pay as promised.
The capital policemen told this news agency that more than 300 policemen who performed day and night duty at the sit-ins had fallen ill. They said that in August, the interior minister had announced that those policemen performing exemplary duty would be given two pays and Rs 500 additional as prize.
The cops said that despite that the both sit-in s have ended, the police higher-ups or the Interior Ministry have not fulfilled their promise. They said that this has created unrest and helplessness amongst the policemen as they cannot even move the higher courts for their rights which could result in losing their job.
